It really has been a year since I transferred CDS Blogs to Blogger. And what a year it was. And what a month this one will be. Before that though, thank you to each and every person who has read any post of mine. Looked at any video of mine. It does mean a lot to see the views come in.

The event I called Star Wars Month is at an end. Celebration Anaheim was a blast to follow, and the information we got out of it, as well as the trailers, was excellent. The Bad Batch arc is now online, EA announced yesterday that Battlefront will have twelve multiplayer maps, and just today Disney Infinity 3.0 has been announced with Star Wars content to launch it.
So, I said that I hadn't got most of the gaming related material posted, owing to the fact nothing at the gaming events interested me, and a Nintendo Direct didn't happen... um... last month. It happens today. Hopefully I can get full coverage of it, since I will be watching.
Now, owing to another event happening this month, and as I'm a massive fan of the franchise anyway, I'm naming this month Star Wars month. From today up to May the Fourth, I'll have numerous content relating to Star Wars, as well as what coverage I can of the Star Wars Celebration event itself. And there are numerous things I can be covering from the event. The second part of the tenth anniversary of Star Wars Battlefront 1 video was just recently uploaded, making it just on the fringe of the end of February. And in terms of videos this month, I don't have any planned as of yet. However, the Game Developers Conference starts tomorrow, and runs until the end of the week, and there might be something announced I could do a video on. I am, of course, talking of PC game demos or betas. If anything gets announced that gets my attention, and I can do a video on it, I will be sure to. I'll definitely get a blog post up about anything announced that I find interesting.
I don't normally start the news out this way, but there was something announced within the last days of January that really struck my interest. Frontier Developments, hot off the release of Elite: Dangerous in December [and with continual updates to it] have now announced another self-published game. This one is something a bit special though.
So Happy New Year, everyone. 2015 is upon us. There's not much to this update, but I'm covering a bit of new stuff.
First off, there'll be two 2014 Review articles being posted. The first will be my 2014 in gaming. It's a pretty big post, and as such I didn't want it included with my general 2014 review. The gaming review will be posted tomorrow, with the general review next week. As I've always said, the UK holiday season begins on the first and runs to the first. December is when the decorations start to get put up, gifts sorted [although sometimes that'll be a month in advance], and the advent calendars start the countdown. And then we have that major event itself of the 25th. And then six days later the countdown to a new year begins, and the holiday season ends after the first of January. Why would I be saying this though? It's not like I have anything super special planned for you all. Well, in fact, I do. Or should I say did.
Getting it out of the way first - the fan game video. I have the footage ready, and will upload it raw. No voice. I tried recording, and it just doesn't come out very good. At all. I'll do some basic animation and add a voiceover or something to that. You'll see what I mean. And speaking of animation, the Principles video should be uploaded this week. Next Monday is the hand-in date, so it will all be put together during this week.
The LAN Adapter shall be here this week as well, meaning MKTV videos should be restarting soon. In terms of games, I'll be getting Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Pokémon Omega Ruby. I know I said I'd cover Smash Bros last month, but I'll be covering Smash this month while the two other games mentioned will be covered next month. It allows me to explore the games more before giving my thoughts. And talking of Sonic Boom, the TV series starts in the US this month - in fact, this Saturday - so hopefully I can catch a livestream of that to give my thoughts. Possibly the shortest update so far, but there's not much I've really got this month. So, yesterday. The sneak peek was posted, end of the month like I said, and though the title will stay in its anagram form for now, I'm sure observant people might have seen what it could be already. I won't be saying any more on it yet, and I definitely won't be giving a release date. Not after what happened with the other novel I said would 'soon' be published.
Either way, onto this month. [New Edition Note: This is currently the fourth novel that is being worked on, and while this preview gives an idea of what to expect - it has been rewritten and is circulating in Kindle-published works. A release for it hasn't been set, but once new previews start appearing the release won't be far behind.
Presenting the original Space Race Championship preview. I know. I know. I haven't carried out any animation during the last month, despite saying I would. Fact is, I've been busy with things outside and inside.
My first year of University over, and I had two animated works complete, and was ready for the next year when I would start the Animation course proper. Both were well within the guidelines of the projects, and both were completed frame-by-frame in Photoshop. Not the best, but it served my needs, and while the works were animated, both were to show off the art in the animation rather than the animation itself.
I don't think this update will be quite as big as the other two. Reason why is - there just isn't much to be said for this month.
Yes, I've been pretty lax on the animation front as, while I've had a few ideas, nothing concrete has been planned. This month though, I aim to really start getting on with it. There was something within my high school years that I made but the files were lost. I aim to try and recreate that as best as I can. But I won't just be doing that. I still will aim for those smaller side projects too. In terms of uploads for this month, I expect to get the usual fan-fic part uploads out roughly every two days. This month will be the one where those two animated university works I mentioned last month will be uploaded. And the teaser for the eBook will also be uploaded this month as well. Mario Kart 8 highlight reels will continue to be uploaded as per normal. And now, I bring on the last point for this month. I will still be keeping CDS Blogs from Weebly open, but there will be no more uploads to be had there. All uploads will be in here, with the main point of the post bracketed in the title. When I get an upload up tomorrow, talking about something I've seen numerous times - and my opinions on it, I think you'll see why that is happening. I might also change this blog page up a bit as well. But I'll have to see about that one. For now, just keep looking out for new content. Now then. I've been busy. Busy sorting out Doctor Who: The Star Wars Chronicles and The Chameleon Chronicles with story outlines so I'm not wondering in the dark about what to add next. As such, new parts can now be added easier by following those outlines. You can expect new parts to be added sometime today or tomorrow for both.
While I might not fully migrate here just yet, it is good to test the waters. Complete integration with Google+ and Youtube is better than limited amounts, after all. And so.
You know me, I've always got ideas. I'm always storing them away for future reference. Whether fan fictions or original creations, I'm always considering them and changing them. From the two original creations on my website, Zincite Storm Cup, and the one being fully revitalised into a proper e-book - TV and Film Residential Camp - to the number of fan fictions like Pokémon: Shadow Boom, Star Wars: Darth Maul, and Doctor Who: Star Wars Chronicles.
Only one of each has been finished and so, while I am continuing with Doctor Who: The Star Wars Chronicles and TV and Film, I was wondering about those less fortunate fan fictions. The ones that have really only just been started. Animal Crossing: Time Origin and The Chameleon Chronicles fall under this category, even if Animal Crossing has two chapters to its name already. Anyone can tell that I haven't been active, on either site. No new story posts, no new blog posts. In fact, apart from a small amount of posts on social networks, you'd be forgiven for thinking this operation had got the red light and been cancelled. Thankfully, it hasn't. I've just been super busy.
So, I was thinking about my reviews that I have done on here so far, and feel that they have been very varied in their style and approach. Especially the games. If anyone has been on Neoseeker and read my reviews on there, you'll know what I'm talking about. This is for game reviews only, however, and when I do other reviews, I will outline how I will go about them first.
From now on, I'll be doing a free flow approach, starting with what I feel is the main point of discussion. From there, I will cover a lot of other things as well that are needed for that game. This will be varied, depending on how much time is needed to cover it. Once that is over, I will then list ten pointers, both good and bad, which will form the basis of the entire review. There will be no score, although the good pointers of the review will sort of form the basics of that score. Eight good points will be eight out of ten, for example. Could this be in the gaming section? It could indeed. It talks about the latest game announced - in fact, two games - in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. But I also made strict claims that this Sonic the Hedgehog story I've been hiding behind would be announced when the game was, and rather than have two separate blogs in two different sections, I've just condensed them into one.
See, I promised there wouldn't be another gaming blog post. Some might call this cheating though, but I promise it isn't. This is basically a restructure of the blogs.
First thing you might have seen is the new description and name of this section. Since it will now cover all CDS offerings and not just insights to the online novels I write. And the other rename is in GAMING COVERS [no idea why it was in caps] to Custom Game Covers. I might not be doing any more of them, but just in case I want to turn it into a big thing some time in the future, it's there as a placeholder. |
