With the next major addition to Star Wars Battlefront EA 2 added earlier in the week, I’ve been enjoying it. Geonosis is an absolute dream of a map, and when that conquest-like mode gets added in February, I’m confident it will really shine.
I’ve got a video up showing off the Galactic Assault scenario for it on both sides, along with two arcade matches to show off Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous. As for this month, I’m starting up the marketing for Space Race Championship by having a look at the two other worlds I have produced.

Forza Horizon 4 is a great game, and it’s a blast to drive around this rendition of Britain. But one thing better is the route creator. For the first time in a Forza Horizon game we can map out our own routes.
The start points might be restricted to those the game already has set and there’s no prop placement, but for a feature that’s just starting out it is pretty robust and workable. I’ve already put a few out there, and so just like with the GTA Online videos, I’ll be showing off a few of them. Now… When I posted the review of Imperial Commando: 501st, I said reviews would be put on hold for a while. I’m sticking to that. As explained in last month's update, delays will happen. And they have. A Look Inside the Morphing Grid will conclude this month. That is priority number one. This is the month I had labelled for the series to finish last year, and pushing it any further away is no longer an option.
Second priority is getting the new series started. Animal Crossing was announced last month in the Nintendo Direct, and with Future of Mario Kart now finished, it allows me to start looking at ideas for a new series. Crossing to the New Life starts with a look at a general overview of improvements. The Mario Kart Monday videos have started up, but the other series I was planning isn’t able to start up. See, what I had planned was a look at Forza Horizon 3 and its expansions along with Horizon 2 before Horizon 4 released. I could push on and get those videos done, but there’s just one factor to take into account.
They won’t look good. My Xbox One hasn’t lasted well in the heatwave that struck the UK – it wouldn’t do with near five-hour sessions almost every day – so it’s struggling to run games at the minute. I’m getting a replacement in the form of the Forza Xbox One X bundle, which is out the same day the game releases. Delays happened, as per usual, though I did get out the more important stuff. I’ll try for Pokémon: Shadow Boom updates at least once every month, but as ever I’m not guaranteeing anything.
The Future of Mario Kart post of last month looked at characters, and this month is crossovers. This will be looking at both characters and tracks, and maybe even some kart and item ideas. With Star Wars month and E3 out of the way, the number of posts might drop down a bit. Or it might not, depending on what I can get out. Several things have already been confirmed to be coming from previous months, so here we go.
In terms of Star Wars, the second half of my look at the films will be coming this month, and I’m hoping to start my look at the Republic Commando novels. In other confirmed things, the Future of Mario Kart series has a post looking at the characters who could come into it. Crossovers will be the post after that. And Star Wars month ends. It’s been fun going through ideas and media of my favourite core, but just because the month has ended doesn’t mean the content stops. As I said during the movie review post, that has now been split into two parts, with the second coming soon.
When I reviewed The Clone Wars novelisation, I also said I’d be going through the full Republic Commando novels in the future. All of that will be coming in July though, as there’s a certain event coming up next week. There's a lot of Star Wars coming, for it is Star Wars month. The last time I ran this was in 2015 to tie into Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. I said there would be 'numerous content relating to Star Wars' during that month. This month, I am planning to beat the amount of content from the last time this run.
Aside from the Celebration posts, the only other thing posted on this site during that month was still technically related to Celebration. Battlefront had just been announced, and I posed thoughts and ideas about it. This time, I've got another Battlefront post to give, this time focusing on one particular part of the non-EA games. I’ve said before that I’ve been targeting releasing Elemental Heroes on the 7th of this month to tie into the first release of Alternate Adventures of Halesowen last year. Slight delay means it won’t be out on that date, but April is still the targeted month.
The preview of the second chapter that would have been up on the 30th will instead go up a week before release. As usual, a post will also be up once it does get released with hints as to my future novels. Except this time, I don’t need to give hints. The next one is already as good as announced if you’ve been with me since the beginning. Or at least November 2014. When the time comes, the full title reveal will be within the release post of Elemental Heroes. With Elemental Heroes having now been announced - and a preview gone up - more previews will follow. That's for later in the month, as early on there's a bit of content going up.
Yesterday was A Look Inside the Morphing Grid, and today's the update. Tomorrow marks the exact date one year ago that the Nintendo Switch launched, and there will be a post with my thoughts going up then. On the Monday there will be another post, though I'm not revealing it at the minute as it could be one of two things. |
