There were a few first impressions posts last month, with the unannounced one being Mario and Sonic at the Olympics Tokyo 2020. Along with the post, I showed off a few of the events in a video. This one was a fun game, so I couldn’t pass on the chance to talk about it.
I also covered Farming Simulator 19, as I’m really enjoying the series, and even went as far as calling the series one of my favourites. Now, I didn’t give a video for it, as I realised how dull that would have been without commentary. The two that I did announce were Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Pokémon Shield. Both of these had post and video to show them off and give my thoughts. And this idea of post and video continues this month.

October saw a slight change of plans in terms of the GTA map showcased, but it still offered a concept of what an area within the GTA-verse could look like.
While I’m not entirely certain when the map based on Michigan will see a reveal (there’s a lot of detail within this one), it will still be within one of these next two months. I talked a bit more about Pokémon Sword and Shield, just giving out a few more of my thoughts before this month where the first impressions post will be released for both Shield and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. And while not technically a first impressions post, I did talk about Farming Simulator 2017 and the reasons for me taking a dive into the series. September saw two videos relating to Star Wars Battlefront and the new content that had arrived for the game, with the refreshed version of Capital Supremacy and Instant Action being played. The month also had the release of my new ebook The Future Adventures of Halesowen, with a second preview being posted as well as the release post.
New stories are set to come, and while there won’t be any new ebook releases this year, I do plan on using Wattpad a bit more. New chapters of Pokémon: Shadow Boom will be continuing to appear on the 15th of every month, but there’s a little extra I’m planning for Shorts of the Rula and Alternate Extras of Halesowen throughout these next three months. August saw the announcement and a preview of my latest book – The Future Adventures of Halesowen. Pokémon: Shadow Boom started back up with its second chapter, with new chapters set to be released on the 15th of every month.
I also revealed the expanded concept of Mii Resort Paradise, complete with some footage from Go Vacation to give a bit of an idea of just some of the things I mention. And speaking of videos, I took my Mini drifting in Forza Horizon 4. July saw the start of a month-long event in Racing Month, where I visited some racing games by showing off some gameplay and shared the story of them in relation to myself. I looked at Excite Truck, Crash Team Racing, GripShift, and Midnight Club: Los Angeles, with each being released every Friday.
I had planned on featuring another game, but felt it was too similar to one of those already featured. And while I feel I could get away with the story I used for Midnight Club, I don’t think I have one for Test Drive Unlimited that would have justified its inclusion. E3 arrived and proved to be a great week as always, even if it felt lacking in a few areas. Rather than list the individual posts made, just take a look inside the E3 2019 label. Of course, there was also news from the Pokémon Direct relating to Sword and Shield, which wouldn't be in that E3 label.
As for videos, I showed off some more custom races in Forza Horizon 4, along with a showcase of the LEGO Speed Champions expansion of the game. Between those were two GTA Online videos that took a look at some of my older custom races. What I'm Waiting For - Volume 7 released, giving my thoughts on Forza Horizon 4, Kingdom Hearts 3, and The Crew 2, before stating a new game to put onto the waiting for list. As stated in the last update, the month of May would be a quiet one. Because June and July are going to be large ones.
I'd already said in that update there was an event I had been planning for May that I pushed to July. That event will be focused on Youtube videos with a few posts here giving thoughts on those games. You're not going to find out what the event is until the July update, but I figured I'd at least say what the plan for it was. Star Wars Month has come to an end, giving a solid look at Celebration and not much else. Well, there were the two posts of Equipping Ideas to Battlefront, but aside from that there were only videos. Both Battlefront 2s got focus, with the EA game showing off Capital Supremacy and the Pandemic game putting some focus on Capture the Flag.
I also had a video showing off a full play of the Mercenary Activity mission from Jedi Academy, and had intended to do a write-up of my thoughts on the game. I gave a brief idea in the video description of what I thought, but felt there wasn't all that much I could say. Last month was a quiet one, with only two posts to this site and little else. I took a look at all the games I bought for the Nintendo Switch in its second year, as well as giving another preview of Space Race Championship - along with the details of its release. That's coming up next week, but in the meantime, there's a sale running for Elemental Heroes, so if you've yet to buy it now's a good time.
As for this month, there's a whole lot of Star Wars coming, for once again it is Star Wars Month - and this year, Celebration Chicago will be the main focal point of it. Episode IX is to be revealed, the Mandalorian TV series is set to get a look, and we'll finally see what Jedi: Fallen Order is all about. The first thing you’ll notice is that I’m no longer using the primary label within the titles anymore. With the new labelling, I felt it was a holdout from the old system that no longer needed to be present. You’ll also notice that my ebooks are now taking space on the sidebar, with a link to my Amazon Author Page.
With Google Plus closing down, I needed a new place to promote myself. This was the opportunity I had been waiting for, though. I had been looking at Patreon as a way for people to support what I do without needing to buy one of my ebooks. With the closure of Google Plus, I now have a Patreon page. It’s still a little basic at the minute, but I plan to inject some detail into it to go with the posting of my works on there. |
